18-year-old Joshua Peterson has been left paralysed from the neck down after allegedly being stabbed by a fellow learner at a Durban school in January 2025.

Joshua spent 5 months in hospital and now requires 24/7 care. The accused was sentenced to 5 years in prison, a sentence the family says is too lenient.

His mother had to quit work to care for him full-time as the family battles mounting medical costs.
