For @reverse_shot I went deep on what is surely the movie of the year: Patrick Wang’s A. Rimbaud. It was wonderful grappling with this magnificent film AND Rimbaud’s poetry, which I had not revisited in years since college. Playing tonight @RoxyCinemaNYC
Very excited to announce that I’ve programmed @wangontheweb’s exciting new A. Rimbaud at Catskill, NY’s Community Theater. We’ll play the film on June 13 at 6:30, and I’ll moderate a Q&A with Patrick right after.
If you live upstate, don’t miss this. Tix in next tweet.
You have to go see this if you have even a remote opportunity. The things Patrick and co. do with light are like the most graceful, expressive choreography. And Blake Draper, man. What a performance.
Thanks to the Roxy for extending our run. Four chances to see A. RIMBAUD in June. Come see the other movie about navigating liminal spaces. https://t.co/iiw9FDBkeK
Watch Martin Scorsese break down how Luchino Visconti's Palme d’Or–winning THE LEOPARD (1963) was lovingly restored & supported by @Film_Foundation and @gucci.
THE LEOPARD screens on June 6 & 9 as part of our upcoming series History, Italian Style! 🎟️: https://t.co/hlRccwS03F
If you live in New York you must see this film. Words fail me. It is a totally new experience that left me invigorated and inspired. It has guts! Blake Draper is a magnificent sight to behold! See it!
