Dear @KeNHAKenya, kindly take a drive along the Redhill Bypass and see what is happening.

The pedestrian walkways and paths are slowly being taken over by tuk tuks, while small stalls and vibandas are mushrooming along the entire bypass. Why can’t we have an organised way of accommodating eateries and small businesses, as we see along major highways in many of the countries we constantly say we want to emulate?

Meanwhile, our national failures @ntsa_kenya can happily come and arrest pedestrians while ignoring the lawlessness happening right in front of them.

The damage being done to the infrastructure and kerbs is clearly visible, with tuk tuks and boda bodas illegally crossing the bypass and creating stages along the road.

Incompetence, corruption and lack of enforcement are slowly destroying what was once a beautiful and organised city. At this rate, I will not be surprised to see full markets, boda stages and tuk tuk termini mushrooming along the entire bypass. We watch disorder begin, allow it to become normal, then wonder how we got here.

I was therefore surprised to learn that the Kenyan President has hired a private jet, costing taxpayers kshs 4 million per hour to attend the forum.

I then checked the program and found that the State Department for Housing and Urban Development is set to present at the forum.

Kenya has other 7 speakers, three are from UN Habitat and UNEP, Michael from MICOP Kenya, Nassim Majidi of Samuel Hall, Nduta an advocate of Juvenile-Onset Parkinson and Sandra Odhiambo, a disability rights advocate.

No Country, even our neighbors is sending their President, except Kenya.

It’s either Ruto is idle or just likes wasting our taxes for him to be attending forums that the Hinga guy of affordable housing should be representing Kenya.

That kshs 4 million per hour he using for that jet plus the millions that will be used to house and feed his delegation of joyrides could have been used for something helpful to the public, if Ruto had akili.

The President Is Out of Order.
The Office of the Auditor General is a constitutional office, not a department of State House. Dismissing a report that questions the loss of KES 50 billion from SHA undermines the Constitution itself.
KES 50 billion is not a clerical error. It is public money collected from the sweat of Kenyans.
To brush aside such findings insults every Kenyan who struggles to access healthcare while public resources disappear.
You cannot swear to protect the Constitution on Tuesday and tear it up on Wednesday because the truth hurts.
