@BudElliott3 What if as part of playoff setup/seeding, you had to play 3 OOC P4 teams to be eligible for first round bye, 2 to get 1st round home game and 1 to be eligible for playoff. Would this get us substantially more fun games?
@TreyWallace If he is telling the truth, he comes off as incompetent to not have taken votes or positions of the universities he represents. How does this not come up?
@ADavidHaleJoint Making the first round of a 24 team playoff is equivalent to making a bowl in the 90s. You (likely) won't win the title but is a reward for a good season. The bowl games have lost their value.
@JoshPateCFB What makes great Saturday's:
A My team winning / still have a shot at the playoff
B Multiple fun games between top ranked teams every week (ex Ohio/Texas, LSU/Bama).
I don't need to have the loser eliminated, I just want to watch high profile matchups
@AriWasserman Playoff size doesn't ruin the regular season, this slate of games does. Give me 2 fun games in each of the three main windows, and any two games after dark, and its a great day
@PeteThamel Fan bases of the non blue bloods need hope to keep them engaged and money coming in. Making a bowl is no longer qualifying of a good season.
@dannykanell Conf championships lost relevancy when SEC coaches said they preferred not to be in the game, Beck broke his arm costing uga a playoff run, and 3/4 had no playoff impact this year. Gotta be replaced.
No program will ever be OK losing to a rival, playoff impact or not
@ClayTravis Need to address regular season impact. If a blue blood loses fans still lose their minds with every loss Bobo can't be the OC, Day was born on third base, Deboer can't win in the sec. More teams in playoffs doesn't change the pain of a loss. Playoff access means hope to others
@AriWasserman Please define, or provide metrics for what's "best for the game". This seems to mean different thing to different people. Keeping traditions, viewership, donations, maximize $?
@AriWasserman Games don't have to have playoff elimination stakes to matter. I want to watch USC/ND or any other top team matchup regardless of playoff impact.
