tried to make my 7th graders feel better about their pre-assessment scores by saying that even I didn’t get a 15/15 followed by “but I promise I’m still qualified to teach you!” and this girl goes “are you though?”

and you know what, I’m just happy that she unmuted & contributed

I start teaching 7th graders tomorrow so I’m trying to remember what it’s like to be 12, and all I can recall is that when I was 12 I told my parents I didn’t believe in god while on a disney cruise, but I honestly think that sums it up pretty well

@LoriPorky @kyreglow ^lori summarized it pretty well but from what I can tell it used to be that trans people were explicitly prohibited from using the bathroom that matched their gender whereas now that’s not the case but there’s also no law protecting you from discrimination on on that basis :(
