This event will see block rewards to miners being slashed from 6.25 BTC, to 3.125 BTC.
This decrease in rewards has historically had the effect of creating a supply shock for BTC, given that there are less rewards to miners being sold into the market.
The halving is also an important psychological milestone amongst the #BTC community, and marks what many believe will be the beginning of a busy time for BTC.
