Under the chairmanship of Ethiopia, AUPSC conducted a field mission to South Sudan to assess the current conditions in the country in preparation for the forthcoming national elections. Somalia,as a member of the Peace and Security Council, actively participated in this mission.

I met again with H.E. Abdullah Warfa Somalia's ambassador to Ethiopia PR to the AU, member of the PSC . The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss various areas of cooperation and shared interests between Sudan and Somalia as well as the role of the AU.

For the first time in decades, Somalia will implement universal suffrage, ensuring one person, one vote throughout the Country. This development coincides with the ongoing military operations to eradicate the remaining pockets of Al-Shabaab.

This is a historic milestone that enhances Somalia's international standing, particularly in areas of peace building, stability and cooperation actross the Continent.
