"When she began running the war games, the capabilities in the “May 2026” scenario still felt futuristic. Lately, the game has “felt a little bit less like science fiction,” she told me."

About to try "Fort Sumter: The Secession Crisis, 1860-61" by @gmtgames 🎲
Designed to portray the events that led to the bombardment of Fort Sumter and the start of the American Civil War 🇺🇸
Just lost to the AI player again on my 20th attempt 🤖
Once again, my opponent somehow managed to win despite suffering a 1 VP penalty for triggering the Final Crisis! 🤦🏾♂️
"They do not attempt to replicate reality in full detail. Instead, they isolate the key elements of uncertainty, time pressure, and consequence."

"One approach that addresses this gap is the use of structured decision-making environments, such as tactical decision games & wargaming. These methods present participants with a situation, limit the available information, and require a decision within a constrained timeframe."
"We train for certainty in a profession defined by uncertainty. Judgment is often assumed to emerge through experience, yet it is rarely developed systematically." https://t.co/sl0OIEEwvQ
Exercising sound judgment underconditions of uncertainty is a fundamental element of military leadership. But how do you actually develop it? https://t.co/sl0OIEEwvQ
"Digital wargaming provides a way to explore those interactions within a structured environment, allowing organizations to better understand how actions in one area influence outcomes in another."

"Today’s challenges are not confined to a single domain. Decisions increasingly reflect the interaction of diplomatic, informational, military, and economic factors."
"One other aspect that I think the wargame did, and that I was hoping before that it would, is to improve German understanding of Russian strategic thinking because when Germans talk about Russia often times it's assumptions and we're not looking at the core strategic interests."
Polish cavalry in the 1920's was high quality.
But, unknown to many, the Soviets had an elite cavalry force that was even better.
The Konarmiya - literally "Horse Army" - was the terror of the Ukrainian theatre in the Polish-Soviet war.
Our game 1920: Nest of Eagles features this elite force.
Four cavalry divisions, a cavalry brigade and an armored car unit.
Use these Russian and Cossack horsemen to rip through the enemy front line, cut their supplies and seize territory deep in the enemy rear.

The Poles were no pushover in 1939.
Our game In Fours to Heaven covers the invasion that started World War Two.
It is a dynamic operational simulation of the Polish Campaign - driven by uncertainty, command limitations, and morale.
The German player must achieve rapid operational success before time, logistics, and resistance slow the advance.
The Polish player fights a desperate but intelligent campaign of delay, coordination, and survival - where morale becomes a decisive factor.
There is no fixed battle sequence.
No guaranteed outcomes.
No predetermined history.
Every campaign evolves differently.
