Israeli scientists at the Weizmann Institute of Science have developed a breakthrough statistical method to detect signs of life in outer space. The innovation will be used aboard an Israeli spacecraft called Eureka, scheduled to reach Jupiter's smallest moon, Europa, in the early twenty thirties. The method works by analyzing molecular patterns to determine whether molecules were created by biological or non-biological processes, offering a new way to search for extraterrestrial life. @WeizmannScience

Israeli researchers at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology have developed a fundamentally new approach to cancer treatment. The nanoparticles slowed the growth of aggressive breast cancer tumors in preclinical models without carrying chemotherapy, antibodies or any other drugs. Rather than delivering toxic substances, the particles work by simply changing the tumor's immune environment and blocking harmful interactions that help cancer grow. In female mice, the tumor shrank significantly, and researchers proved that the empty particles really prevent the development of the tumor - a path that can lead toward human trials. @TechnionLive

There are few more beloved New Yorkers right now than Jalen Brunson, the Knicks point guard and team captain, who led the beloved New York basketball team to the NBA finals for the first time in 27 years.
And who has been there with Brunson since (almost) day one? His wife, Dr. Alison Marks Brunson, a Jewish physical therapist and the mother of their very adorable young daughter, Jordyn James, who was named after Ali's late Jewish father, James.
The couple started dating while at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in the suburbs of Chicago, and went to homecoming and senior prom together. After college (they dated long distance!) Jalen proposed in their high school gym.
“She’s sacrificed a lot without really knowing what’s in it for her," Jalen said in their wedding video (which includes shots of the horah and the couple's ketubah.) "She was committed. She wanted the best for myself, and sometimes it felt like she wanted the best for me before her… she’s pushed me to be better."

In an interview with The Jerusalem Post, actor and talk show host Jerry O'Connell opens up about his support for Israel and the Jewish community - a commitment rooted in a childhood promise he made at nine years old after learning about the Holocaust. After watching an IDF documentary of October 7, 2023, O’Connell said his childhood vow resurfaced with urgency: "I thought I am witnessing a Holocaust; antisemitism on a global level again. That childhood feeling. That anger. That promise: if something like this ever happens again, I'm going to do something."

Today marks 82 years since D-Day, the day on which over 160,000 Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy, France as part of “Operation Overlord” to fight the Nazis. This played a major role in ending World War II.
There were over 10,000 casualties, with 4,414 Allied soldiers confirmed dead.
May their memories forever be a blessing.
Today marks Holocaust Survivor Day, where we honor the stories of those who endured the Shoah. Tragically, this year’s Holocaust Survivor Day is marked by fresh pain as antisemitism surges around the world reminding us that the hatred they once endured in Europe continues to threaten Jewish lives today, even in places where they sought safety and peace.
This day is not only about memory; it is a call to vigilance and solidarity. We must honor survivors not only with our remembrance, but with our commitment to fighting antisemitism in all its forms, wherever and whenever it appears.
Today, the NYPD was out in full force for the Israel Day Parade.
Tens of thousands gathered along Fifth Avenue, and the Finest worked to ensure the safety of all attendees.
This event went off without incident, and that’s thanks to the greatest police department in the world.
On behalf of the Knesset, I would like to thank the men and women of the NYPD who worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of today’s Israel Parade.
We deeply appreciate your dedication and professionalism, which allowed thousands to march proudly and safely in support of Israel.
Israel 💙 NYPD
