If Bernie's 5% annual wealth tax on billionaires had been enacted in 2012, Elon Musk would be worth less than $365 billion instead of the $1.2 trillion that he's worth today.
Elon would still be the wealthiest man alive & every family in America would have universal childcare.
Peter Kalmus got fired. That matters:
“How could I have been so incredibly wrong? I overestimated humanity. And I underestimated the percentage of people who are actual fascists, and the percentage of people who are so susceptible to fascist propaganda that they support the fascists.”
Every time I see a new AI video with accurate physics, fingers, lighting and continuity I have to admit that AI has gotten really good at not solving healthcare problems or tax automation.
The idea that god would wait 13 billion years (universe start) or even 4.5 billion years (earth formation) or even 8 million years (human ancestor identified) or even 300,000 years (modern human identified) before he sent himself down in the guise of his son to be brutally murdered to forgive himself for misdemeanours against himself is too ridiculous to be believed in the 21st century.
This statement changes nothing.
The President has threatened a genocide against the Iranian people, and is continuing to leverage that threat.
He has launched a massive war of enormous risk and of catastrophic consequence without reason, rationale, nor Congressional authorization - which is as clear a violation of the Constitution as any. Each day this goes on, the risk and criminality of these actions escalate for our nation and the world.
Moreover, this administration’s self enrichment, insider trading, and pure corruption off this chaos - from crypto currencies to predictive trading markets to bribe “settlements” - has placed the Trump administration’s pursuit of personal wealth squarely against the wellbeing of our nation and its people.
All of these incidents, and plenty more, have clearly driven our country past the threshold for impeachment or invocation of the 25th amendment.
We cannot risk the world nor the wellbeing of our nation any longer. None of these considerations should be partisan, but shared in good faith by Americans of all backgrounds who care for the safety and stability of the United States.
Whether by his Cabinet or Congress, the President must be removed from office. We are playing with the brink.
I have developed a level of sangfroid about the insanity of the era, but this "whole civilization will die tonight" comment is utter madness on a level that's still shocking.
DEMOCRATS YOU GOT SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT THIS STRONG LANGUAGE OR SHOULD WE HAVE THE 15TH “HASAN HATES ISRAEL AND AMERICA WE CANT HAVE HIM AT OUR EVENTS” CONVO?!
I have a theory that the reason we see so many people posting variations of “time is different” “everything is a blur lately” “I don’t even know how I got to this day so fast” is because the stress of the unavoidable impending doom energy looming over the world is causing many people to experience disassociation for the first time but they don’t know how to name or identify it. So they think it’s time itself. The experiences themselves.
I’ve disassociated for as long as I can remember, and before I realized what it was I remember telling people that sometimes I walk through my days like I’m outside of my body and there’s a film over the world. I get from point A to point B somehow, don’t really know how, and days/weeks/months of my life felt like they passed in a blink without my participation.
I dont think the concept of time is changing. I think we are experiencing a mass uptick in anxiety and depression because we subconsciously feel the nosedive we’re in, every single news story discusses how we will all be poor and dying soon, and our brains have snapped.
Welcome to being mentally the illest, folks
