🍁Archivist. Interest in warships, CDN war trophies, military records and artifacts, Northwest Passage stuff. #OSINT but pretty bad at it. Tweets are our own.
#OTD 35 years ago during OP Desert Storm, HMCS Athabaskan raced to the aid of USS Princeton in the Persian Gulf. I threw together a post to mark this Coalition anniversary: https://t.co/0UFPReZVDx
@CaptFitzjamesRN Great plan! It’s a nice illustration of the relative size of the ships, and shows the two steamers longer and narrower hulls (with the stacks depicted). Pioneer is cut in to a proper ice dock, to protect them from the land ice grinding into the pack on the floe edge.
@UltimaThule0000 All the above has been deleted. I described him as an “Arctic Phenom” in my photo archival survey 1854 Beechey: https://t.co/l08fv7E8zi
Digitally reassembling as a collection the first (located) images of the Canadian Arctic taken by explorer Sir F. Leopold McClintock in 1854. Let’s all go ashore to Beechey Island 17 decades ago! #FranklinExpedition https://t.co/l08fv7E8zi
HMS Terror’s 1845 screw propeller, on the wreck, and now represented on my model of the wreck site. Explore the history of this incredible artifact: https://t.co/3JOSHGCIxd
@kejamieson_ It’s a good time for reduced scale modelling (for your mental health). In my World, little me gives tours of my model shipwrecks, and we’re all happy!
