In return the US negotiates a deal:
Reopen the Strait of Hormuz (which was open before the war)
Agree to negtotiate with Iran on nuclear
Boost Iranian economy with 300 billion $ (which they will reinvest into nuclear program/drone & missile stockpiles regardless of agreement)
1/2 This Iran deal is a disaster
US starts a war and uses:
1,000+ JASSMs
850 Tomahawk cruise missiles
1,000+ Patriot Interceptors 200+
THAAD intercepters
300-600 SM Series Interceptors
Iran closes Strait of Hormuz
Energy prices sky rocket
Iranian regime more radicalized
@prestonstew_ It's a bullpup conversion kit. It takes a normal core assembly of an AK pattern rifle, but changes the ergonomics of it.
you can see the trigger linkage in one of the posted photos.
@TBrit90 I have two theories about this.
Either this is Trump getting blessed with an easy offramp
or
This is him having an opportunity to say he tried as hard as he could for a deal before launching a much larger operation (possibly ground troops in the near future)
@sentdefender Trump is buying himself more time by pushing oil prices down before possibly deploying ground troops.
If you recongize the pattern, when negotation rhetoric ramps up, an escalation is likely in the near future.
@McFaul flip this around, deterence usually work, Iran builds up their ballistic missile program and drone program to a scale that they can cause such enormous damage to the middle east, no one would dare conduct a military operation to stop them from getting a nuclear weapon.
Rubio has provided authentic explanation of reasoning today in his press conference.
Iran has continued to build missile, drone, and naval deterence capabilities. In time (the near future) they will be at the point that they will be able to cause so much damage to the US and regional allies, that they will be immune from attack if they proceed to attempt to build a bomb.
The Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has stated that the Strait of Hormuz is now closed and Iran will set fire to any ship trying to pass into or out of the Persian Gulf, according to the Iranian state-run Tasnim News Agency.
