Who should be held accountable when consumers are scammed? Since #consumers are the victims, they can’t shoulder all the responsibility - platforms and financial service providers should be held accountable. Voluntary compliance is also not enough. #Regulation is the answer!
President Ruto: “Building back better from the bottom upwards is, essentially, about including the marginalized working majority in the economic mainstream.” The bottom billion relentlessly wage their daily battle for survival in a crowded arena x-rized by scarcity of opportunity
“…when the same false information repeated again and again, we often come to believe it is true. Troublingly, this even happens when people should know better - that is, when people initially know that the misinformation is false.” #behaviouralscience https://t.co/JNAxjzjnxA
To be relevant in the real world, behavioural interventions must take account of the context—and culture is a significant part of this. @schimmelrob & @mmuthukrishna propose a cultural evolution framework to address the ‘contextual gap’ in public policy: https://t.co/BBUwqx5sKC
“Above all, recognize that if you have had success, you have also had luck - and with luck comes obligation. You owe a debt, and not just to your gods. You owe a debt to the unlucky.” ~ Michael Lewis
I’ve found only 4 things that increase my baseline happiness:
1 - Time outside, ideally in nature
2 - Physical activity, preferably rigorous
3 - Meaningful relationships, with lots of play
4 - Work that has purpose, where I have agency

"He who has never sinned is less reliable than he who has only sinned once. In a non-volatile environment, it's easy to mistake people for saints."

Great minds don’t think alike. They challenge each other to think differently.
The people who teach you the most are the ones who share your principles but not your thought processes.
Converging values draw you to similar questions. Diverging views introduce you to new answers.
You don’t need to catch every break if you’re willing to keep trying.
Every winner has an archive of many losses, but each attempt creates the chance for a victory.
You need to be patient, but not passive.
Active patience.
I hope one day you’ll remember who you are.
Remember your light
And how soft your strength was
Remember where exactly on this journey you left you
And be so drunk with courage that you’ll race back to you
I hope one day you’ll remember who you are.
