The next time World Rankings are updated, Rumesh should be at the 2nd place.
1st place is still tough in the short term. Julian Weber (Germany) currently tops the rankings with 1360 points. Even if he wins the Doha Diamond League on Friday (19th), he will need to throw 93.28m to get to top the World Rankings.
With a 93.28m + DL win, his Doha performance score is:
1291+140=1431
New five-score total (this is how rankings work):
1431+1421+1333+1314+1306=6805
6805/5=1361
Topping the World Ranking will probably have to wait. Diamond League Finals might be the meet to target.
This is assuming he is NOT going to surprise us with a 93+ MONSTER. He might ;)
Despite govt claims that no importer had prior knowledge of the customs duty surcharge, it is clear that the $23m worth of LCs opened a day before the surcharge was highly unusual, considering the daily average is $8m. @murtazaj suggests backdating by 2 days to solve the problem.
Imagine if this was the response of @sjbsrilanka today instead of acting like petty brats.
"One of our finest team members, Mr. Eran Wickramaratne, has received an invitation to head Sri Lanka’s apex cricket decision-making body.
While we oppose the NPP on many fronts, we extend our full support to Mr. Wickramaratne and his team as they undertake the task of reforming the game we all love.
We are grateful to the President for placing country before self in appointing one of the SJB’s own. Mr. Wickramaratne will undoubtedly play his part in steering Sri Lanka towards cricketing excellence, and the NPP Government will benefit from his professional expertise.
We have granted Mr. Wickramaratne’s request to resign from the Working Committee and the Management Committee, as he believes this will strengthen the bipartisan role required for his new responsibilities.
He remains warmly welcome to return to official duties within the party at any time.
On a lighter note Mr President, perhaps once the mission is complete, you may thank us for ‘lending’ him to you.

This morning, I read Trump's Mind:
"The Iran thing, that’s the reason I can’t sleep. What the hell am I going to do? I gotta get out of there. Am I becoming Jimmy Carter? I gotta get out. But can’t look weak. Gotta look tough. Can't look like a loser..."

"We lied about Vietnam, we lied about Iraq, We lied about Afghanistan, We lied about Somalia, We lied about Libya."
Col. Lawrence Wilkerson - Colin Powell's former chief of staff.
"By not securing Qaddafi's weapons caches in Libya, we put more small and medium arms into the hands of terrorist groups than any arms merchant has ever put into the world. Did the same thing in Iraq. We failed to secure Saddam Hussein's arms caches. We didn't have enough troops to do it, so we just left them for al-Qaeda and ISIS."
In light of the recent cybersecurity incident involving government financial systems, the Digital Trust Alliance, together with the key cybersecurity professionals bodies; ISACA Sri Lanka, ISC2 Sri Lanka Chapter, Cloud Security Alliance Sri Lanka Chapter, and BSides Sri Lanka, has formally written to H.E. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and relevant officials.
The letter offers constructive professional support to strengthen cybersecurity governance and institutional resilience across Sri Lanka’s public sector.
This is a collective step taken in the spirit of professional responsibility and national service. Cybersecurity is now central to financial integrity, public trust, institutional continuity, and national resilience.
Sri Lanka’s digital trust must be built collectively, and strengthened before the next crisis arrives.
A major narcotics haul worth more than Rs. 1.1 billion has been seized at Bandaranaike International Airport, with 22 Buddhist monks taken into custody, according to local media reports.
The arrests were made during a raid carried out on Saturday night by officers attached to the Police Narcotics Bureau following intelligence information.
Authorities said more than 110 kilograms of suspected Kush and Hashish were discovered hidden inside false-bottom suitcases packed with school supplies and assorted sweets.
Reports said each monk was allegedly carrying over five kilograms of narcotics in luggage.
Investigators also found that the group had travelled to Bangkok on April 22 using airline tickets allegedly arranged by a sponsor. Mobile phone evidence reportedly showed photos and videos of the suspects in civilian clothing while overseas.
The seizure is being described as the largest drug bust in the history of Bandaranaike International Airport and the first reported case involving monks being arrested there with a large narcotics consignment.
The suspects, said to be young monks from different parts of the country and pursuing higher education at various institutions, are due to be produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court for further proceedings. (Newswire)

Iran’s Deputy Speaker reveals it: “The Americans didn’t enter Isfahan to rescue a pilot. They entered to steal the uranium. They left empty-handed.” The world’s greatest army… entered Iran as a thief, and left it as a loser. The secret Trump will never tell: America failed in Isfahan. Iran knows it. And the world is starting to know it too.
Trump: “I think that countries like Japan and China have neither the courage nor the will to open the Strait of Hormuz.”
➖️China: “The Strait of Hormuz was already open before the war. You are the ones who created the war out of nothing and closed the strait to the rest of the world.”
