They should not urge the Bishop only for money from politicians across the country but also scooping the money collected at the funeral like in the case of Kisumu Diocese robbing those who are bereaved of the little donation made during the funeral.
This man Archbishop Philip Anyolo
Archbishop Philip Anyolo has become widely respected for his principled stance in rejecting gifts and financial offerings from politicians, standing firm to protect the integrity of the Church.
Recently, Anyolo declined a KSh 5.6 million offering from President William Ruto, a move that many faithful considered consistent with his long-standing commitment to safeguarding the sanctity of the clergy. This was not the first time he has refused such gestures.
In 2019, while serving as the Archbishop of Kisumu, he turned down a KSh 4 million car gift from then-Deputy President Ruto during his installation ceremony. Anyolo expressed concerns over the intentions behind the gift, suggesting it be redirected to benefit an institution instead.
In his explanation at the time, he emphasized the need to ensure that any gift aligns with the Church’s mission and values. He stated that the car, which had been funded by Catholic MPs, would only be used for the greater good of the Church if offered genuinely and without ulterior motives.
Faithful from various dioceses where Anyolo has served have lauded him for his unwavering commitment to keeping the Church independent of political influence. His leadership, particularly during his 15 years as Bishop of Homa Bay, earned him a reputation as a clergyman of high integrity. He maintained a firm position against clergy receiving material benefits from politicians, emphasizing that "he who pays the piper controls the tune."
Supporters have praised Anyolo for promoting a separation between politics and religious spaces. They see his decisions as critical in fostering respect between the clergy and political leaders while ensuring that Church altars remain free from political influence.
Many are now calling on Archbishop Anyolo to take his principles further by directing Catholic priests across Kenya to bar politicians from addressing congregants during mass. Advocates argue that such a move would help the Church maintain its moral authority while standing firm against political misuse of religious platforms.
@steveHSC@Chaguas1@BiancaNaom1@ThirtyKingz Stop shouting my friend. You have been favored a lot. Let everybody be treated equally days that you robed other parts of this country dry are long gone. There's nowhere we are going to collect tax and lump it together that it's from kikuyus is not there. Think straight.
I'm that one person who has never subscribed to that nauseating Mt Kenya entitlement nonsense.
I mean, we've been in power for so many years.
Kenyatta senior was in power for 15 good years.
Mwai Kibaki was in power for 10 good years.
Kenyatta Junior was in power for 10 good years.
Why do Mt Kenya feel they are more Kenyans than others?
We've dominated the most powerful political offices for decades, yet we still babycry about developments, one man one shilling divisive call and recently about shareholding .
It's about time we ended this cancerous systemic seclusion even as we say #ShareholderAendee
One Kenya. One flag.
@mukeeni @Belive_Kinuthia I feel sorry for you. Senior Kenyatta paid himself by occupying land the size of Nyanza. The junior Kenyatta gifted himself by stealing from the borrowed Euro bond. You, with your poverty, you've refused to think. Your idiocy is clouding your mind.NONSENSE.
Just because Donald Trump acts goofy doesn’t mean his presidency wouldn’t be dangerous. And you don’t have to take my word for it. Lately, some of the people who know Trump the best have been saying in no uncertain terms that he should not be president again.
@OkiyaOmtatah@methumuhia Thanks senator in my village we have a multi million water project which has been grabbed by a community member and community denied access
@RadioCitizenFM@AQtee Katika kijiweni you can't even talk of Kenya Premier League. Whatever is ailing sports in this country I think you are part of it.

@Kute_spurs @WamboiKuria @chelseadamu What had my coming to Kisumu got to do with my response. Your people should not be full of themselves all the time as if they are the owners of this country. It is your greed since time immemorial which has brought this country to this mess.
The Standard reported today that presidential security was heavily enhanced all through the Mashujaa weekend, and Ruto changed his itinerary several times and cancelled public engagements. Many government officials, including the military, were caught unawares by these changes, and it heavily affected Mashujaa protocol. Those who hear things say there was a credible threat.
Let's delve into this sensitive topic without fear...
The last time a giant had to be removed from government was Charles Njonjo in 1983. When a Mugumo tree falls, it brings down several small trees around it. By that analogy, Gachagua's fall will affect senior people in the civil service and in the security establishment. In other words, while Gachagua is now out, his networks are still alive in the top echelons of government. Are these the ones who have caused presidential security to be enhanced? We can only speculate.
But it is noteworthy that 20 years of Kibaki and Uhuru left a Kikuyu-heavy security apparatus that also saw the decline of the Kalenjin military power. In fact, the appointment of Gen Ogolla to CDF was clearly meant to be a stop gap measure to enable the return of the Kalenjin military power in the interim period. His death short-circuited the project.
Now let us dig into something Gachagua said at his presser on Sunday. That attempts were made to poison him. Twice! So, who were these who thought you could just kill a sitting DP without consequences? This question is not the right one. The real question is, what did Gachagua do that made his death the only available way to protect state power? I submit that if it is true that attempts were made to kill Gachagua, then it could only mean that evidence popped up showing that he was on course to overthrowing the government!
So why was presidential security enhanced? Because of what I posted here earlier, which people didn't take seriously. If Ruto were to ninio today, there wouldn't be Paul Muite and James Orengo to argue jurisprudence and sijui my Lords this that. There would be military Generals seeking to salute a civilian CIC and finding no universal one. Because Kenya is now divided into those who think we have no DP, those who think Kindiki is DP and those who think Gachagua is still DP. This is no joke! It is a serious national security problem.
Let me tell you something you haven't actually thought about. When Kenyatta died and Moi took power, the latter appointed Kibaki as VP to keep Kikuyus safe in government. When Njonjo had to be removed from government in 1983, Moi retained Kibaki as VP. When Moi dropped Kibaki after the 1988 Mlolongo elections, he appointed Dr Josephat Karanja as VP, because he feared you couldn't drop Kikuyus from government just like that. When Karanja faced a no-confidence motion and resigned, Moi appointed George Kinuthia Kiarie, alias Saitoti, to become VP. In other words, Moi spent years fearful of Kikuyu money, influence and political power. He never dared.
But by shoving off Gachagua and appointing Kindiki, a Meru (a Tharaka, in fact), Ruto has become the first to actually chase the Kikuyu out of government since independence. And that is pretty brave, considering that the 20 years of Kibaki and Uhuru were spent trying to ensure the Central Kenya power establishment would never be caught flat-footed again (in reference to the 2007 PEV). So, is there a credible threat against the President and is there an attempt to prolong the court case to keep the nation on edge?
I don't know. You go figure.
