It’s pathetic how limited @espn “Unlimited” is. You can’t even go back to the previous day’s matches at Wimbledon; you can only find the current day’s matches. And for this bullshit, I have to pay $30 per month. Just infuriating

How to lose the 21st century to China:
1. Unilaterally disarm regarding the soft power competition by ending economic aid and international media agencies.
2. Impose tariffs irrationally on everyone.
3. Invade Greenland, break up NATO, and isolate the US from the entire world.
4. Defund universities.
5. Discourage the best and brightest from immigrating to the US.
6. Withdraw from international organizations, handing over their control to the Chinese Communist Party.
7. Foment polarization between Americans.
8. Stop supporting democracy abroad; just talk about power.
9. Weaken American democratic institutions at home.
Hey, @AppleSupport — why is the Podcasts app in iOS 26 playing everything at 0.9x speed? I don’t understand how the default speed got changed to 0.9x & I shouldn’t have to set a custom playback speed for every goddamn podcast. Is there a way to change the overall default speed?
@peacock why is the audio mix for the track world championships in Tokyo so terrible?! The commentators are almost completely drowned out by the stadium noise; it’s absolutely infuriating that you can barely understand anything
@espn why the fuck should I bother to subscribe to ESPN+ if I can’t watch most of the key matches at the @usopen? Now that it’s to the quarterfinals, I can’t watch any of the matches (even once they’re over)
What an incredibly shitty product!
. @espn Why on earth do the “commercial breaks” in the on-demand feed for Wimbledon just play white noise? It’s incredibly annoying — I have to mute & unmute the TV every time
@erasureinfo question re: Erasure “Chorus” deluxe edition. The live disc says that it was recorded at the Manchester Apollo on August 6, 1992, but they only played at the Apollo from June 7-23. It seems likely that this is a typical US v UK date issue (eg. 6/8 vs 8/6). Confirm?
The logic behind the cuts at NOAA appears to be "the private sector can do forecasting better." Problem w/ this is the data the private sector uses all comes from NOAA! For free! Cuts that threaten gov data also threaten private corps (and us, the people) https://t.co/tWCii7cOBD
The tragedy here has levels.
It's not just that the U.S. has terminated congressionally mandated USAID contracts covering all of our global tuberculosis programs, all supplies of emergency food packets around the world, and malaria supplies for 50 million ppl.
It's also folks in the comments—many of whom are already paying the lowest effective federal tax rate in decades, for their quintile—cheering the end of life-saving programs they never knew existed. It's like:
"Hey bro, so we reduced your total federal tax rate several times in the last half century."
"Awesome."
"And we're gonna try to reduce it further."
"I love it."
"Oh, and for trivial savings you will never experience, or notice, or think about, we also canceled programs we had on the books that were saving millions of lives."
"Hell ya! Incredible stuff. Thank you so much!"
Russell Moore told NPR that evangelical pastors he works with are facing pushback when preaching the words and ethics of Jesus. He said, “Multiple pastors tell me, essentially, the same story about quoting Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount [and] to have someone come up after to say, ‘Where did you get those liberal talking points?’ … What was alarming to me is that in most of these scenarios, when the pastor would say, I’m literally quoting Jesus Christ, the response would be, ‘Yes, but that doesn’t work anymore. That’s weak.’”
When Christians are quick to publicly proclaim that the teachings of Jesus are antiquated and weak, we have a crisis on our hands. As my friend @Brcremer always says, “when you worship power, things like mercy, empathy, and compassion sound like weakness.”
Cutting SNAP, WIC, Medicare, Medicaid and other vital social services all so rich billionaires can get another tax cut.
The GOP cares about the average American?
@lxeagle17 the more underrated cultural vibe shift that is not really being talked about in media is that it's just considered virtuous nowadays to be as much of a piece of shit as you possibly can be
