@_xoChelsyAmber The movie is doing excellent tho, #1 in 71 countries on Disney+ is outstanding, it was only low on us cable cuz European channels aired it early and it spread from there, rise of red hardly contributed to this in the way you think
@LaurieBarrupiz They seriously aren't right still, cable viewership has always been on a decline, this number is the best thing they could gets, and this movie is trending world wide on Disney+ and thats all that matters, not Disney channels numbers
A few people who don’t usually follow us and aren’t aware we report ratings too are wondering why Disney Channel aired this first to begin with and if this is inherently a bad sign for Descendants so let’s clarify with some facts in this thread. (🧵)
Actually believe it or not, it’s still profitable to Disney to air things on cable, they can run sponsors and get extra change that way.
Movies alone can get upwards to 400,000 viewers or even higher during holidays, Wicked Wonderland performed fine enough for their standards.
I blame European Disney channels airing it earlier and everyone decided watching it in that high pitched sped up mess was a better option cuz impatience
@lalisadaynn and ignoring that there was like 2 big obstacles that could've led wicked wonderland from getting beyond this that D3 never had cuz... yk. 8 year difference
