The Perfect Maid: Design Choices Behind Asuma Toki
• Originally, like other C&C members, Toki's design was handled by Mx2J, but due to an injury he suffered, DoReMi was assigned to her design.
• When designing Toki, there were two major points of focus for DoReMi: finding a balance between her maid uniform and tactical suit.
• During the draft proposal, DoReMi received suggestions to put a greater emphasis on Toki's tactical side and a shorter skirt, but DoReMi liked the long skirt from the earlier draft, so a solution was found: a classy and elegant maid would cast off the longer maid skirt when she enters combat.
• Mecha design posed a challenge for DoReMi, for he believed he wasn't good at drawing mecha suits and drawing a full one was even far more difficult.
• He had to keep in mind several things, including that Blue Archive has a great number of players who are well-versed in mecha designs and visuals, so he sought advice here and there.
• When he showcased the earlier designs, the team called them "magnificent."
• DoReMi stated that Toki, as a character, embodies many different fantasies and visions for the team.
• Toki's maid uniform was inspired by classic Victorian-era wear.
• Since she's a C&C member, the writing team toiled to make Toki fit seamlessly with her other clubmates without forcing it on the player.
• Toki's iconic "peace peace" sign was a suggestion by former Blue Archive scenario writer SeongMin Park.
• The Abi-Eshuh exoskeleton suit's name was suggested by former main scenario director and writer JuYoung Yang.
