They looked us straight in the face and told us these releases were going to be huge and that PlayStation had long-term plans for all of them.
Thats what happened.
Every disc copy of Pragmata and Resident Evil 9 pre-sold out and physical copies were on back order at all retailers for weeks. Capcom literally sold every single disc they printed.
The idea that they “sold more digital than physical” is massively burying the lede lmao
All PlayStation players, On August 23rd, at 7pm local time to August 30th, at 7pm all PlayStation players will turn off or log out of their PS account to hopefully show PlayStation that we want physical discs back. Don't use PS store for that week. #PSblackout@PlayStation
I don't know what it is, I can't be excited about video games that are coming out like I used to ever since PlayStation announced the death of physical media 🫤
@alestlima Canetou, meu mano. Acho q muito provavelmente esse é meu último console de geração. Vou voltar pro retro ou então montar um pczinho baixa renda, mas não vou pagar 10 15 mil num ps6
PlayStation is really short-sighted, and most of you overestimate the intelligence of these greedy morally and creatively bankrupt CEOs🚀
In a time when games are $60-80 or even $100, and consoles are $700 and next gen could be around $1000 taking away the ability to buy physical games.
✅At a discount
✅Trade them with friends
✅Buy second hand
You’re taking away the options and forcing them into a monopoly, where many could turn away, not necessarily out of love for physical, but gaming is becoming a luxury hobby for many, and the more you inconvenience them, the less they’d be willing to put money into your games.
Sony’s very own game sales are less than PS4 era despite a fairly close install base for the console.
This will reach a breaking point eventually
Most people neither want next gen, not think anything Sony’s selling (and most others) is worth $70-80 or even $50
NO DISC 💿 NO BUY
