Tamaqua, Pennsylvania caught my attention on my long road trip, and I (Miranda) had to pull over.

Like several towns in the area, they have signs all around showing their “hometown heroes.”

I loved seeing the veterans honored in this way.

James and I (Miranda) have traveled a lot,
but this date was different.

On this particular trip we visited Wisconsin,
James’s old stomping grounds.

There is something to seeing where a person grew up.

Did you land far from home?
Or are you still in the town you were raised in?

I (Miranda) used to say that if I needed to disappear...
...I’d go live with the Amish.

Not sure I’d still stick with this one, honestly, but when I went through Pennsylvania, I couldn’t help but go through Amish country.

There was a really great shopping spot, Kettle Kitchen Village, where I made a stop.

I could have spent ALL my money there, but I restrained myself.
