We have to stop making “White” the standard.
It shouldn’t be “Black children are as smart as White children.”
It should be “Black children are smart.”
Our goal can’t be to prove racism wrong, but to eradicate racism and be holistically healthy.
In a meeting about returning to school activities yesterday, one of the facilitators told us she has to keep reminding herself that it isn’t about mourning what used to be, but looking for what it can be, and I really needed to hear that.
