Why we need more, not less energy efficiency.
Without past energy efficiency improvements UK household energy bills could go up by an additional £1,000 per year.

@scotsguy_61@ArchitectsCAN Agree that more support is needed for homeowners, this campaign is to ensure homes that are built by developers etc are up to a higher standard so homeowners won’t need to upgrade them. And those who can’t afford heating don’t need it.
ACAN Northern Ireland have launched their first campaign.

Energy Performance Certificates to include Embodied Carbon assessments for new buildings! Amazing idea, but we can’t and needn’t wait until 2030 for that to happen!! We have the understanding, method, and mandate to do this now via #PartZ@ArchitectsCAN@CommonsEAC
Fantastic climate march this morning with @ArchitectsCAN@archdeclare for @Fridays4future. @KatAScott winning best sign award for Ground source pumps/ Fergie reference
"More than 50% of our gas comes from overseas and we need to be generating clean power here. People aren't talking about the amount of gas we use in our homes and reducing that - and the government is absent on this."

In a week where Northern Ireland had sad environmental losses in the Mourne fire, @wattonkerry of ACAN NI presented on embodied carbon to the All Party Group on climate action.
Thank you to 81 attendees and @rachelwoods52 for chairing.
APG Climate continues....81 members, councillors and observers on today on embodied carbon, carbon in construction, building regs and housing. Thanks to everyone for attending and get debate 👏💚
1/13 This thread is my summary of the Cumbria coal mine case, laying bare the many flawed and bogus arguments that have been made along the way, and including links to key documents on both sides.
