St. Pancras station opened in 1868. When built, it was the largest station roof in the world without internal supports.
In 1873, the Midland Grand Hotel, designed by English Gothic Revival architect George Gilbert Scott, was constructed on the station's façade.

#OTD in 1902, the Coronation of King Edward VII took place in Westminster Abbey.
This was the first time our vestments were used for a coronation. One of Watts' Directors, Mr Davenport, along with the architect Micklethwaite, designed 5 sumptuous copes, fully embroidered in gold.
