Jon Kay: there’s been a large increase in young people being out of work.
Jacqui Smith: No there hasn’t, it was also a problem for the last govt.
If only @Ofcom@lisanandy would do their job and stop broadcasters from constantly lying.

@KP24 Has cricket only existed for 20 years? Ridiculous list of modern cricketers ignoring the two you mentioned and plenty of others. Bradman, Sobers, Botham, Holding, Richards, Hadlee to name a few.
@MelJStride@Conservatives Mel please stop lying. You’re doing Putin’s work for him. Until this week there were no sanctions on Russian oil products processed elsewhere coming into the uk (including under your government). From this week there are. Some products are banned immediately. Other are phased out
The @Conservatives’ Alternative King’s Speech claimed the welfare bill is higher than income tax receipts “for the first time ever”.
We’ve heard this a few times recently, but it’s not true. Welfare spending (including pensions) has been higher for years.

Hey Labour MPs - close your eyes try and imagine Streeting, Rayner, Miliband, Burnham on the world stage - would they begin to match up to Starmer? Very much doubt it. As I keep on saying get a grip! The PM has acquired a huge international reputation - impressive in fact.
Today the MOD is announcing a £1billion order for 72 RCH-155 guns. It’s a big investment in the British Army and shows that the Labour government is serious about increasing the lethality and deterrence of our forces 🇬🇧
I welcome HMRC’s conclusion, which has cleared me of any wrongdoing.
I have been exonerated by HMRC of the accusation that I deliberately sought to avoid tax.
When purchasing a home of my own with a mortgage, I did not own any other property and had no personal financial interest in the court-instructed trust set up to manage my son’s financial award. I was advised by experts that I should pay stamp duty at the standard rate.
I set out to pay the correct amount of tax. I took reasonable care and acted in good faith, based on the expert advice I received, and HMRC has accepted this.
I have always sought to act with integrity, and I believe politicians should be held to high standards - that is why I resigned from government and cooperated fully with HMRC.
I wanted to ensure that I paid every penny that I owed, and have done so. I am relieved that my family can now move on - and that I can get on with my job.
Today’s strong growth figures show the Government has the right economic plan.
The choices I have made as Chancellor mean our economy is in a stronger position as we deal with the costs of the war in Iran.
Now is not the time to put our economic stability at risk.
Well, that Express headline was always going to raise a few eyebrows!😳
Starmer is responsible for embracing polygamy to appease Muslims, and so he's increasing their benefits??
That's the implication.
After all, this "started in April", right?
Wrong!

To anyone considering a leadership challenge I say - put the country first, not your own interests or those you might claim are the interests of the party.
Keir Starmer has a massive democratic mandate from the public, nobody has the right to seek to depose him, nobody.
Not Wes, not Ed, not Andy, not Angie.
Yes Keir is unpopular in the polls, that’s current public sentiment - it’s not a mandate for getting rid of him. Opinion polls are snapshots of opinions. Local election results are always an opportunity to register a protest. Labour has a job to do, we’re not even two years in yet, things are tough - a leadership challenge would be self indulgent and illogical - in my view.
