Birthdays make you reflect on the life you have lived.
I have grown up with Kenya. I was six when she became independent, young enough to dream, and so was the country.
Over the years, I have watched Kenya change, struggle, surprise us, fall short of her promise and, time and again, remind us of what she is capable of.
In many ways, my own life has followed a similar path.
I entered courtrooms where women were few. I became a mother. I stepped into public life. I defended a Constitution I believed in and challenged BBI when I believed we were putting that Constitution at risk.
In 2022, I became Raila Odinga’s running mate — a moment that showed many women and girls that some spaces could finally have their faces in them too.
Along the way, I became a grandmother. The little girl I carried when I first ran for President is now a young teenager. Watching her grow has made the question of what we leave behind feel much more personal.
Because perhaps that is what age gives you: perspective.
You begin to see that a country, like a person, is never finished becoming.
At 69, I have seen enough of Kenya to know her struggles, but I have also seen enough to know her potential.
That is why I remain hopeful. And why, after all these years, I am still prepared to step into the space where I believe I can serve.
I am still here. Still in the game! ❤️
And tonight, I would love to celebrate this milestone with you.
Join me LIVE on TikTok from 7:00 PM for my birthday celebration, a little laughter, a few stories, and a chance to share this evening together.

The cost of building a new level 4 hospital is;
1= Ksh. 250 million.
15 = Ksh. 4 billion
Statehouse tea budget = 12 billion
Tell me why we need to run to white people for handouts!
Indians own multi billion companies that don't pay taxes, mistreat and underpay Kenyans.
Europeans illegally own large parcels of land in Laikipia.
The Chinese are illegally mining minerals in Kenya.
But hey, let us target those selling tea, trimming people's heads etc
A Burundian comes, buys a 200 Bob bucket & 500 Bob thermos, starts cooking kahawa and mandazi, goes around every morning selling to anyone. A Kenyan idiot, sits their buttocks somewhere saying that the Burundian guy is the cause of their unemployment. Very idiotic. Very stupid.
Dear world,
It is us again, Kenyans, we would like to clarify that these are the PRESIDENT'S remarks and NOT OURS. We would like to distance our selves from them.
Infact I stand with my Rwandan Kinyozi
Good morning wonderful people of Kenya.
I am typing this right from the dialysis machine as another session begins this morning🥹💔
I know my continuous posts might feel overwhelming, and I see how many DMs I've sent trying to reach out🥹😭
sometimes even messaging the same kind souls over and over again.
It breaks my heart, and I am so sorry if it feels like too much.
But desperation has a way of stripping away pride. When your life is on the line, you don't stay silent.
To everyone who has carried me this far, thank you for loving me, fighting for me, and refusing to let me face this alone. May God bless you abundantly.
Your 50 bob, your 100 bob, your DMs, and your relentless retweets are the only reason I am still holding on.
Please, as we count down these final 3 days, I am begging you from a hospital bed🙏: do not tire with me yet.

Ruto just spent 40 minutes trying to create a false equivalence between our national values set out in the constitution and his so called “development”. Kenyans, please trust me when i tell you there is a reason the Preamble comes before Article 43. You don’t get to the “development “ clauses until and unless you have taken into account the reasons we passed this constitution in the first place. Democracy, Human Rights, Freedom, Equality, Rule of Law and Social Justice.
The next person who wants to lead this country needs to stop telling Kenyans they have a plan. We are tired of hearing about plans. You already know the problems!!
Odious debt, corruption, a broken education system, a struggling health sector, unemployment and the high cost of living and so much more. None of these issues are new. Tell us exactly what you are going to do about them.
Kenyans don’t need another campaign built on slogans and promises. We need specifics, timelines and accountability. Anyone asking for our vote should first tell us, in detail, how they intend to fix this country. We already know the problems. What we’re waiting for are the solutions.
This business of saying, “We’re meeting, we’re consulting, we’ll unveil our agenda when the time is right,” is not going to work anymore. The time is now. Tell Kenyans how you will deal with the debt, what laws you will change to fight corruption, how you will fix public hospitals, what reforms you will make to education, where the money will come from, what you will cut and what you will prioritise.
WANTAM!!
The International Criminal Court (ICC) suspects who basically own Kenya today bribed media house employees to delete post-election violence news stories from their YouTube channels, arranged for raw footage to disappear from newsrooms, and rewrote the narrative by portraying themselves as victims after funding the killings.
The kind of money thrown around to sink the case ran into the billions. They paid an employee of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) to steal the list of witnesses lined up against them at the ICC.
They used that list to bribe witnesses, paid hit squads to kill, and even made witnesses disappear if they refused to recant their testimonies. The officers who were in the hit squad that killed the witnesses were themselves also murdered. https://t.co/XXddL3JAbq
Some of the targeted hate I receive is because I refused to hide my images or testify falsely at The Hague that the violence I witnessed was spontaneous rather than organised. Instead, we travelled the entire country, displaying the pictures and holding healing and reconciliation discussions.
I was even approached not by the two main ICC suspects, but by Kibaki’s people, who were trying to protect his key civil servant. That civil servant was facing charges of five crimes against humanity: murder, forcible transfer of population, rape, persecution, and other inhumane acts.
Entire police occurrence books were rewritten to conceal the true number of those who died. Almost 20 years later, there has not been a single conviction for the post-election violence.
Thousands died, hundreds (possibly thousands) of women were raped, and over 500,000 people were displaced. Their animals, properties, and land were stolen.
The 2007–2008 chapter was never closed. The story continues, and if you make the mistake of re-electing people whose only language is to bribe everyone and kill those who disagree, Kenya will experience even worse violence than in 2007–08.
He has already normalised sending masked men to abduct citizens in full view of cameras, while goons work with the police to beat and violate opposition leaders and their supporters. Soon those masked men and goons will be shooting and killing people on live TV. That is exactly what happened on 25 June 2024. Why do you think almost all senior police leadership in Nairobi comes from one community, and that the police boss who ordered a blogger’s abduction and murder is being groomed to be the next Inspector General of Police?
Let me stop here. You can find some of the photos I shot in 2007–08 https://t.co/LRDxDzXwu4.
Finally, @DCI_Kenya boss Mohamed Amin: since January, your special teams have been forced to sign that they received per diems when they travel for out-of-station missions, yet they receive nothing. They are being forced to sleep in their cars and beg for food.
Stop treating your special units like homeless people. Who is stealing their allowances? Or is that the money State House is using to bribe voters and pay bloggers?
The struggle to liberate Kenya continues… #NeverAgainKE
A new front has opened in Kenya’s long running duty free rice importation war, and once again the trail keeps circling back to the same name that Mwea farmers and Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah raised months earlier, @bbsmallnairobi owner and Chairman of Ten Commodities Wholesalers Abdiweli Hassan.
The High Court in Kisumu has ordered the national government to disclose, within seven days, the full list of beneficiaries of the latest duty free rice import programme, after the Ahero Rice Farmers Association filed and was granted an urgent petition challenging Gazette Notice No. 10061 of July 6, 2026. The notice authorised duty free importation of up to 490,000 metric tonnes of Grade 1 milled white rice by November 30, 2026.
Justice Alfred Mabeya certified the petition as urgent and directed the National Treasury and Economic Planning Cabinet Secretary, the Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Cabinet Secretary, the Agriculture and Food Authority, the Kenya Revenue Authority, the Attorney General and the Kenya National Trading Corporation to file comprehensive responses within a week.
The judge ordered the respondents to hand over the complete roll of approved importers, the tonnage allocated to each one, the amounts already cleared, customs entry numbers for every consignment, all duty exemptions granted, the permits issued and the criteria used to allocate quotas.
The Ahero farmers are not asking the court to halt the importation programme outright. Their petition instead demands transparency and accountability, insisting that a scheme built on tax waivers and handed to private importers cannot be run in the dark. Growers from Ahero, Mwea, Bunyala, West Kano, Tana Delta, Hola and Bura say they were never consulted before the Gazette Notice was issued, despite the programme threatening to undercut prices for rice they have already spent months and millions of shillings producing.
This is the second time in under a year that rice farmers have taken @kntc_ke and the Treasury to court over the same underlying complaint, that the government keeps handing multibillion shilling duty free import allocations to a shifting cast of companies whose ownership and connections remain deliberately opaque.

The Ruto government is just too much. These guys wake up every single day just to conjure up more ways to cause pain to Kenyans. I know we are expected to keep government in check as opposition but it’s literally impossible to keep up with the breadth and depth of the capacity for evil these guys have. It doesn’t have to be like this bwana. When we tell you just kicking Ruto out solves 80% of our problems you best believe! Just like he did with Haiti and now Ebola, for the right amount, this one can sell us to the devil himself!
Yesterday, in Wangige, IEBC officials locked out Kenyans seeking to register as voters.
Their main excuse is that they were unprepared for the huge number that turned out.
Kenyans were forced to go back home unregistered.
The British government introduced visa requirements for Kenyan nationals on March 7, 1996. Do you know what the main reason was? After the fall of Somalia’s government, President Daniel Arap Moi’s regime started selling Kenyan passports to Somalis.
They would use our then well-respected passports to travel and file bogus asylum claims.
Today, Mr Ruto is selling our passports to warlords. Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF)’s Algoney Hamdan Daglo Musa is facing US sanctions and, shockingly, is documented as holding a Kenyan passport (AK1586127).
He is traveling with a Kenyan passport to facilitate his international movements, buy arms, and evade existing sanctions.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and their allied militias have been accused of committing genocide and ethnic cleansing against non-Arab communities through mass killings, summary executions, and widespread sexual violence including gang rape and sexual slavery. Their documented atrocities also include torture, enforced disappearances, the recruitment of child soldiers, and the deliberate targeting of people with disabilities. Furthermore, the group has been implicated in war crimes such as the indiscriminate shelling of residential areas, attacks on hospitals and humanitarian workers, the looting of aid, and the use of starvation as a weapon of war during prolonged sieges.
Our passports, our foreign policy, and our national pride are being sold to the highest bidder. Ruto’s criminal regime is a total disgrace to Kenya!
This isn’t just corruption; it’s betrayal. Our nation’s most sacred document once respected worldwide is now a tool for indicted criminals accused of mass killings. Mr Ruto is auctioning our passports for personal gain. When I become president, those who sold our passports to warlords will be held accountable! That day is coming.
