Back in college, I used to go to my buddy’s house and fire 10+ plays a day just for the action.

Lose a few? Keep firing until we got even.

It was fun, but I lost thousands betting that way. Eventually I realized betting multiple games every day brought out the worst habits in me—chasing losses, forcing plays and constantly giving the house more opportunities to beat me.

That’s when I switched to 1 play a day.

My mindset is simple: find the best spot on the entire slate and hammer it.

I’d rather bet $5,000 on one play I love than spread $1,000 across five plays just because games are available.

I tell myself I can go at least 4-3 over a week. I don’t need to win every day. I don’t need to chase if I lose.

That’s discipline.

And once my bet is placed, I usually don’t even watch the game. Watching every possession, inning or drive just gives you another opportunity to get tilted and make an emotional bet.

The biggest difference between gambling for entertainment and betting seriously is discipline.

Pick your spot. Bet it. Live with the result. Come back tomorrow.

If I want action just for fun, that’s what the casino is for.

I’ve had an abortion. I was 21 years old completely on my own. And by completely on my own, I mean, I didn’t even have a family home to go to on holidays or weekends. nobody was there to help me financially in anyway. I was working at a coffee shop and we were one of the oops the condom broke couples. This was in 1999. There was no Plan B. My then boyfriend pressured me into it. He made it clear that if I chose to keep the child he would only do the court ordered minimum and would have no part in the child’s life.
Again this was 1999 and there weren’t good benefits, medical plans or even easily accessible welfare for women in my condition in the state I was living in. I also had horrible morning sickness from probably four weeks on which of course made keeping even my low stakes coffee job hard. So I went through with it. And almost 30 years later I still regret it and think of that child. If someone goes through with an abortion and tells you it’s no big deal? They’re either lying or evil. So now I speak out as part of repenting for murdering my first child. I am the mother of three children. One of whom I intentionally killed.
