Lourdes University visits Siena Heights for regular season series baseball finale today. Both universities calling it quits at the end of the semester. Both teams still alive for the final spot in the WHAC conference tourney. @BaseballLourdes @SHUBaseball @NAIABall

@CoachMarcusHill And about 15,000 JUCO players. So that's about 57,000 roster spots possibly even above 60,000. You do not need to be Mike Trout to play college baseball. You just need to have decent ability but mostly love it and be willing to commit to a college program schedule.

@CoachMarcusHill If you're a good high school player at a reasonable program, there's probably a place for you to play baseball in college.
These numbers are from 2026.
NAIA = 8,093 players
D3 = 12,000-16,000
D2 = 12,000
D1 = 10,000
So on the conservative side, there's 42,000 college roster spots

@CoachMarcusHill Surely depends on where you play and what league you play in. There is a city league in our area where you could bat literally .750 (and people do) but in the league of baseball power schools that borders it you probably do not hit .150.

@shegone03 That's a terrible call. The ball was fielded in fair territory with an easy throwing angle, and the guy (who is supposed to be a professional ball thrower) threw the ball across the base into foul territory. I guess by rules he's out but for a pro you suck at your job.

Totally worthless if we're talking about high school. Maybe at the pro scout combine. Just take the guys who can put bat on ball and who can throw strikes and get people out from the mound. Just look for ball players.
