His pneumonia (an infection) caused the sepsis as his body tried to fight it off. I’ve had sepsis and survived….

Sepsis systematically shuts your organs down-all of your organs. You must catch sepsis early for it to be survivable. Kidneys are usually the first to go-then the lungs, the liver, the heart, etc.

My doctors told my family that less than 2% of people with sepsis survive. The doctors said that it was a miracle….
