@bomah Hi Barry, I don't have any other contact details for you. Please let me know if there is a better option. Spotted at Whites Marsh on the 30th of December. I also have 2 more from the previous day.
After many frustrating hours of badly behaved dog owners, I finally refound the White-rumped Sandpiper at Ballycotton yesterday found by Paul Moore earlier in the week.

Patience is key when it comes to birding and even more so when you try and snap a Dusky! Eluded me for ages. Stunning bird and amazingly my second this month.

First proper wader catching attempt of the season at Clogheen Marsh last night. Pretty poor return with just 6 birds, but never disappointed with catching Black-tailed Godwit and Greenshank @_BTO@NPWSIreland@AlanMc_23@BirdWatchIE@WaderStudy@bomah
First taster ringing session and what a pleasure to see these magnificent birds up close. The variations of moults is fascinating, hopefully 2025 is a better year in general foe wildside! #birding
Last CES session at Clogheen yesterday was again very poor with just 53 birds of 12 species. Even with all the rain last year this is the worst CES season. Made up for it with another Swallow roost in the evening 109 caught plus 5 Sand Martin @_BTO@BirdWatchIE@NPWSIreland
Highest numbers in 25 years.
233 territories recorded by the @NPWSIreland survey team
An incredible effort gone in by everyone involved in saving these birds.
Imma go lie down now.

@SoundsIrish This particular road was perfectly safe and ample room to manoeuvre two cars passing, slowly. They cut away beautiful meadow sweet and destroyed bird habitat beside an s.p.a site. East cork has been noticeably bad this year for unnecessary hedge cutting.
Huge thank you to @SamBayley2@NPWSIreland for today's bird ringing demonstration for @HeritageWeek in Ballincollig this morning. Massively informative and a joy to see birds up close. The kingfisher resting on it's back blew my kids away #birding#HeritageWeek2024
This idiotic insanity has to stop. Near Saleen, Cork. Waste of time, money & just exasperates the very real climate and biodiversity crisis. Middle of nesting season. Two tractors. One flailing hedge. The other ripping up the verge. Zero excuse. End it. @Corkcoco is this you?
Some birds just happen, others don't but sometimes if you wait long enough they appear before your very eyes! Delighted with this Western Subalpine warbler at Hook today #BirdsSeenIn2024#ireland#birdwatching
