I was really close with him, and he was really good at football, so we always spoke about it and were like, at some point, we’re going to play together on a high level, and we just had fun together. Just at one point, you realized it was not going to happen anymore, and that was really tough. I went the last day before he passed away to his house, sitting there, I can remember the only thing in my head was ‘I just need to make sure I can make him proud when he passes away’. Then, when I joined Tottenham, I remembered 37 was his favorite number, and I saw it was free, I was sitting there with my friend, and we looked at each other, and we were like, it needs to be this number.
