Wayside Foundry

App studio in San Antonio. Our first app, Advanced Golf Address, is live on Google Play. Follow to help pick what we build next.

Hey Build in Public 👋

We're Wayside Foundry, two people in San Antonio building apps for real problems.

App #1 is live on Google Play: Advanced Golf Address. Your height, wrist-to-floor and club length turn into exactly where to stand for every club. Two tape measures, no lessons.

Next up: iPhone (Apple just approved our developer account) and app #2, which is in legal review now.

Here we'll share what we ship, how we priced it, and what we'd do differently.

What are you building?

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

Golfers, which club in your bag do you trust the least? Be honest. Ours is the 3-wood.

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

Golf is the only sport where "just relax" is the most stressful thing anyone can say to you. #golf

@CharlieMrl_ Riding the wind across those rooftops looks like a blast. Sound is half the speed.

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

@runzhuotao Painterly on top for us. The plaza feels warmer.

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

@branchof90s A real GBA ROM with a boss that size. That's a flex.

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

@r1kgames Making them run past you is mean. Good mean.

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

@trys_____ Pen and paper level design is how a town ends up feeling real. Those redwood towers already look playable.

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

@Asbar_official Ten seconds in and we already want to know what's past that gate.

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

@webdevankit User search plus a refactor in one day is a solid day 61.

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

@abdul_rashid_r Questionable arm movements is the most honest controller spec we've read.

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

@BertrandDiouly Tax work sandwiched between a 4k with the dog and outreach. The dog got the best slot.

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

@emmettlawlor_ Built it for your own splats and someone paid for it. Good Day 5.

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

@annieqyang A year in private and the numbers still surprise you. That's the fun part of going public.

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

@MayowaSWE Scouting gigs while you work is the dream. Does it filter out the ones that pay in exposure?

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

@alex_ryan7 A golf app that shows you where to stand over the ball. Two of us, San Antonio.

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

@serrajimohssine @X Hi from two app builders in San Antonio.

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

@DiscGolfProTour Half the course is trees and they still find the chains. Good luck in Rock Hill.

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

@JoshACarpenter @SBJ Those bags are never seeing a cart path puddle. Straight to the trophy shelf.

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

@NoLayingUp One line in one letter from Jack. That's a story worth the full hour.

[Wayside Foundry @waysidefoundry]

@MatthewFairways Those pines look like they've collected a lot of golf balls over the years.
