Sorry I’ve been MIA.
Severe 24/7 headache upper backside of head, stiff neck, vertigo/nausea, bad balance walking, xtreme light/sound sensitivity, numbness on all L side of body.
New calcifications inside skull on CT = normal & then FND diagnosis by neuro.
What can be done?
I sometimes help my husband by driving him to work & back (1-1.5hrs each way).
Last week, on one of the days I counted 8 dead bird of prey carcasses on the side of the road. Hawks, Falcons, Owls.
Likely, H5N1 is proliferating the local wildlife foodchain.
Not good.
Bonus if you use eye protection too. Sunglasses/eyeglasses w/ side shields are my fav.
Pro-tip: Put some skin-safe silicone tape inside respie nosebridge area to create a foggless seal for glasses :)
Advice:
Don ur well-fitting respie b4 you leave ur abode.
Keep it on when in shared public air unless emergency doffing is required (to prevent dehydration, hyperthermia, to have CPR performed on you etc)
Doff ur respie after you get back inside abode.
Wash ur hands.
👍

@RealCheckMarker@LizHighleyman@mrmickme Also:
Is “Feral hogs” a more accurate description than wild boar? These are descended from escaped former ag stock, correct? Not “wild boar” hunting stock intentionally brought from the EU/UK & released?
Not sure if they have a difference in H5N1 & Human Flu susceptibility.
@RealCheckMarker@LizHighleyman@mrmickme I personally know hunters in NorCal who hunt, kill, dress, prepare & eat wild boar (predominantly sows actually) meat.
They are invasive species in many parts of California & in some instances there are incentives to cull their populations due to the damage they cause.
@lechatbaron I do have some non-human IV experience that will lend to learning it - just the cath insertion is super important to get right due risk for infection or perm vein damage if I blow it w/ poor technique.
Wish I could just get a temp port or central line!
@lechatbaron Seriously - we are walking survivorship biases. Let’s hope we continue on that side of the statistical data & be outliers for a loooooooong as possible. ✊
@lechatbaron I am gonna find a fucking way. Like if I gotta take a community college medic course & learn how to put a cath in for infusions & self-fund a buyers club situation for a supply of IV remdesivir so help me, I WILL.
Truvada & Acyclovir I will play their game for after that.
