New research in BMC Medicine reveals vegetarians may face a higher risk of hypothyroidism compared to high meat-eaters, especially after adjusting for BMI. Iodine intake could be a factor.

My fourth first-author paper has just been published in Clin Nutr! 🙌🏻
Among 4,807 @uk_biobank participants with CKD, a higher hPDI was associated with a 34% ⬇️ risk of mortality, while a higher uPDI was associated with a 52% ⬆️ risk🌱

@thelowcarb_rd These points say nothing as to whether we should consume flour. Processing removes the nutrients, but the addition of these later likely increases bioavailability. The second is a fallacy. They didn't have a toothbrush >14000 years ago, so should we stop brushing our teeth?
