on view April 27th - July 28th, will feature Historic Black Churches from West Baton Rouge Parish.
Meet Baton Rouge painter, sculptor and relief artist Ben Peabody, who turned his battle with alcohol into an expression of art, highlighting the consequences of addiction and the joy of recovery. ART ROCKS! THE SERIES on #LPB tonight at 8:30pm. Generously underwritten by @WBRM
In hindsight, this opportunity lead to me eventually being introduced to more people at @WBRM. One exhibit in 2022, one in 2024. My solo exhibit Burning Sugarcane Fields, originally installed as part of my first solo exhibit “Debut” at @ebrpl Main Library Special Collection Dept.
4 years ago today, an article I wrote for The Advocate about @WBRM and @ManshipTheatre’s screening of @smithsonian’s documentary about The Negro Motorist Green Book. S/O to @Jake_Clapp who was my Editor during that time.
This trip would not have been possible without:
🔹◾️Rose Roche of The City of Port Allen and West Baton Rouge Historical Association Board
