Finally got my first owl shots of the year. This beautiful great grey allowed me to take a few shots before it silently flew away. Picture taken west of Cochrane, Alberta, March 23, 2019. #Alberta#owls@NatureAlberta@NatureCanada@AbBirdsOfPrey
@DinicolaNicola @FisherSpeaks From Edmonton there are Bluebird trails on some side roads where Bluebird nesting boxes have been set up on pasture fences. Go west of Edmonton to the south end of Spring Lake or east south of South Cooking Lake, or to the Beaverhill Bird Observatory near Tofield. In a few weeks.
Another pretty face in my yard this morning. Hairy has become a regular over the past few weeks. They have always resisted close by but never ventured to the suet capital of the Meadows before :) #BirdsAreABlessing#HairyWoodpecker
