I was also honored to present Professor David M. Clark with WCCBT’s inaugural Global Impact Award, recognizing extraordinary global leadership in our field.
What I will remember most is the spirit of the gathering: relationships, trust, cultural humility, shared commitment, and hope for the future of global CBT. Thank you to everyone who made this Congress so special.
I had the honor of giving the opening keynote, leading the President’s Panel and General Assembly, joining panels with WHO and global colleagues, offering an OCD workshop, introducing keynote speakers, and presiding over the closing ceremony.
With the energy of the World Cup in the air, I kept thinking about what happens when people from around the world gather — bringing different flags, languages, histories, identities, and hopes — and discover what they can build together.
This Congress marked the end of my three-year term as President of the World Confederation of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies. It was deeply meaningful both personally and professionally.

Today, we recognize the importance of making psychological support available in crisis-affected settings, and the global community working to make that possible.
In times of conflict, disaster, displacement, and disruption, mental health matters. CBT can offer practical, evidence-based support that helps people manage distress, strengthen coping, and rebuild a sense of stability and hope.
