Just today I was reminded of Ewa Demarczyk .. I met her in Krakow, at the famous Piwnica pod Baranami. I think it translates to 'beer hall under the rams" .. such an incredible interpreter of music. Like Maria Callas.

@RobCrossley4 Somehow I ran across mention of George Meredith, 19th century, England. So I've been reading the 'collected works'. A couple of years ago completed the entire Balzac, so this is next to nothing. Not great literature, probably, but still interesting. The two Emilia books ..

About using a countertenor, maybe?? Working on a new opera and originally imagined the 'hero' to be a pants role, a mezzo. But perhaps it could be countertenor? Serious role, not intended as camp in any way. Ideas?
