Come on, Charles is no Bottas and Kimi is fighting for the WDC, Hamilton not.
And to begin with, Charles had a better start and won a position there against Hamilton.
Ferrari then ruined Charles race with the usual bad pitstops strategy.
Not the way we wanted it to end. Hope you all still enjoyed the race, you’ve been amazing all weekend. Thank you Zandvoort for all these truly special years 🙏
proof that charles always follows team orders and just wasn't given any orders today, the only disagreement he had was literally about his strategy...
charles IS a team player, blame ferrari for any issues.
all things aside, Charles was INCREDIBLY fast throighout this race. Even right at the end, after the disastrous double pitstop, he made it to the front to fight for p3. I wish more people could have noticed that. Shame that Ferrari screwed him over with their strategies.
repeat after me: it’s not charles’s job to care about his teammate’s race. it’s the job for the pit wall that should act to help both drivers and not put them in position where they have to choose who’s race to compromise. team is a team, not a sacrificial ritual
saying charles is not a team player when he never got asked to swap positions with lewis?! charles has never refused swapping positions btw, every fucking time he does it, whether he agrees or not.
his only complaint was on his pit stop. ferrari is a fuckass team who never wants to make any decisions, whenever one driver wants to swap they always pit the driver ahead. but in this case, charles pitting was a bad strategy for his race.
calling him a bad team player for not wanting to pit makes 0 sense 🤣 would be understandable if it was him refusing a swap, but that never happened
"your team called you into the pits at one point. lewis was behind you and putting a little bit of pressure on you. you didn't come in straight away. what happened from your perspective?"
🆑: i would have liked to stay out longer. i had, i think... well, we had discussed before the race what the preferences were, etc., and that was my preference. then, well, the team initially asked me at the beginning of the lap to come into the pits, but at the end of the lap, they asked me to stay out. so that's what i did. and i think two laps later, i came into the pits.
the only thing that bothered me a little bit was that, it's true, we were putting pressure on russell so that he would stop, and then we could go longer to create a gap with the tires. and he stopped two or three laps after me.
that meant i ended up five seconds behind russell with tires that were more or less the same... well, with a pit stop that was more or less at the same time. so after that, it meant that i was kind of signing up to finish behind russell, and that was mainly what bothered me at that point in the race. but yeah, we stopped anyway, and that's how it goes.
Ferrari fcked over Leclerc multiple times this race and Lewis ended infront of him because of it and still sky is talking shit about Leclerc blaming him?!
charles didn't refuse to move, they didn't ask him to do it. he refused to pit because his strategy got completely ruined by that. they sacrificed his race to help lewis.
