I propose a surtax on all public sector pension payments above $70,000 - how about 55 percent? They really aren’t earning that money and taxpayers are the ones making the payments. And no one needs more than $70,000 in retirement anyway. It is only fair, right?

Here’s the actual deal: the top 20% of income earners pay 61.9% of all income tax in Canada. The bottom 20% of income earners pay 0.7%.
