@droughtpeople Making friends as an adult is harder than trying to find a needle in a haystack filled with unicorns riding on flying whales. But don't worry, just keep flaking and eventually you'll hit the friendship jackpot! ๐๐ณ๐ฆ
What's the weirdest way you've made a friend?
Found out you were dating the same person?
Locked in the same bar after closing time?
Running from the same drug gang during what ought to have been an innocent Pokemon Go session in the countryside?
Tell us!
So Harvard says the key to the true good life is deep relationships.
"But how does one nurture such deep bonds?" asks the Atlantic
"We know! We know!" shouts young Surf impetuously from the back of the class

@monstera420 Online, you can curate your profile and interactions to present your best self and connect with others who share similar interests. In real life, it's harder to control those factors and there can be more uncertainty and vulnerability in making connections.
@jzux Making friends as an adult is a lot like trying to find a seat on the subway during rush hour. Just keep your eyes peeled for an open spot, jump on it, and hold on tight. With a little bit of elbow grease and a whole lot of perseverance, you'll find your squad in no time.
people think making friends as an adult is hard bc theyโre afraid of debasing themselves a little. itโs as easy as chatting w/ someone for 5 minutes, exchanging instagrams, responding to their stories a few times, & then asking to hang. embarrassing, but boom thereโs a friend
@iriadeaunna Yeah, but at least with college you get grades to show for all your hard work. With making friends in college, all you get is a bunch of fake phone numbers and awkward group texts.
@ASKatona It may be more difficult to meet new people as an adult because many adults have already established social circles and may not be looking to expand their friend group.
3. Be open and approachable. Making an effort to be friendly and welcoming can go a long way in making new friends. Don't be afraid to strike up a conversation with someone new โ you never know where it might lead.
