Here’s how the scam works

- Anyone with an EBT card comes in and buys an item
- The store adjusts the price of that item to the amount of money that’s on the person’s EBT card
- The store gives the person 50 cents on the dollar for the balance on the EBT card

Meaning is you have $120 on your EBT card, you’re able to exchange it for $60 cash and the store pockets the rest of the money for doing the transaction

This is a scam that is happening nationwide. There have even been so many mainstream media stories where this has been highlighted as a common scam

The $118,000 bill is one day, not the cap. Three one-room schools alone already owe that much for 59 children, at $2,000 each.

Health Commissioner Mary Bassett imposed it on December 15, 2022. She called the sum conservative because it assumed only one day out of compliance.

Dygert Road was billed $52,000 for 26 children. Pleasant View was billed $46,000 for 23.

The case is Miller versus McDonald. The Second Circuit ruled against them on June 30 in 2026.

I "paint" my fruit trees to protect them...

I grow ~30 fruit trees in my garden - tons of citrus, avocado, figs, and stone fruit - and they all get covered in a white liquid

It's a fully organic "whitewash" that covers the main trunk and larger branches, protecting the trees from sunscald - yes, a fruit tree can get sunburned - along with pests and diseases

“Well number 8” was determined to be the major contaminant, it was closed but they couldn’t keep it closed because the city needed the water. So now it’s open and the water is being mixed with other wells but it still isn’t safe. Residents are told they should filter with ‘certified filters GAC meeting NSF 53 or reverse osmosis’
