The team have established a partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions and Mears Housing to deliver courses for refugees in Leicester. WEA tutor Nicky engaged prospective learners through learning activities focussing on Art to develop their confidence.

WEA Tutor Nicky has worked with learners at Welly's Work Place to support them develop confidence for life & work. Skills acquired enabled learners to set-up social enterprises, earn an income through selling items produced & give back to the community.

Another fabulous Celebration of Learning Event at the Adhar Project in Leicester. Learners, service managers and families were invited to view the exhibition showcasing art work produced by learners through the academic year. Certificates of attendance were awarded by Tutor Nicky

Philippa attended the monthly coffee morning at Belgrave Neighbourhood Centre where different organisations come together to offer different services for the local community. It was a well attended event, giving the local community a chance to meet & talk with local services.

From the successful coffee mornings we have been attending at Belgrave Neighbourhood Centre, we were invited to attend the first coffee afternoon at Mellor Primary school to engage with local families about different support and services in the area.
