Most small business owners skip retirement plans for one reason: they think it's too expensive.
That belief is based on a 401(k). A SIMPLE IRA costs a fraction of that, and SECURE 2.0 credits can cover most or all of it for the first 3 years.
Jason and Adam Ackerman go live July 16 to break it down.

Most Americans are counting on something they don't actually trust.
A recent survey found most people 45+ expect Social Security to be a major part of their retirement. The same survey found most of them don't believe it'll be there in full.
That's a strange way to plan a retirement.

Heading into the long weekend, a quick thank you to the small business owners who make this country run.
Happy Independence Day from all of us at WealthRabbit. Enjoy the time with the people you work this hard for.
We'll see you next week.

More than 99% of US businesses are small businesses with 100 or fewer employees.
That's not a niche. That's the economy.
The retirement system was built for the other side of that number. Which is why 1 in 5 owners has nothing saved and 1 in 3 thinks they'll never retire.
It's not a discipline problem. It's an infrastructure problem.

There's a reason you never miss a 401(k) contribution but can't stay consistent with your IRA.
The 401(k) is automatic. It comes out before you see the money. The IRA usually isn't.
That's not a discipline problem. It's a design problem.
WealthRabbit connects your plan to payroll. QuickBooks, ADP, Gusto, Paychex, Square, TaxBandits. Set once, contributions flow automatically.

We asked 800 business owners what stops them from offering a retirement plan.
The top two answers: cost and time.
Here's the thing. That's the right answer to the wrong plan. It describes a 401(k).
A SIMPLE IRA has no TPA, no 5500, no testing, a fraction of the cost, and digital setup.

One of the hardest findings in our small business retirement survey:
Women business owners were twice as likely as men to have nothing saved for retirement.
Same pool, same kinds of companies. This isn't a willpower story. It's a system that was already harder for them before they started the business.

Most small business owners think offering a retirement plan means cost, paperwork, and compliance headaches.
It doesn't.
Join WealthRabbit co-founders Jason and Adam Ackerman on July 16 as they break down how SIMPLE IRAs make it quick to set up and easy to run.

Most articles about SIMPLE IRAs sell you on how easy setup is. True, but setup isn't where owners get into trouble. Staying compliant is.
2026: employees defer up to $17K, plus catch-ups. No 5500, no testing. Every dollar you contribute vests immediately.
The hard part is the ongoing compliance. Here's the full breakdown:

From our small business retirement survey:
The most common amount saved by business owners aged 45-55 was $50,000.
For someone earning $120K, the target is ~$1.2 million. So about 4% of the way there.
Their corporate peers average $152K-$199K in their 401(k).
The difference isn't income. It's structure.

Self-employed? Q2 estimated taxes are due Monday, June 15.
While your business finances are open, worth knowing: a growing list of states (CA, NY, IL, CO, OR) now legally require you to offer employees a retirement plan.
Most owners find out from a notice after the deadline passed, with a penalty attached.
Drop your state in the comments and we'll tell you where it stands.

The biggest retirement decision many people make this year isn't how much to contribute. It's what to do with the accounts they already have.
New ICI data: 61% of Traditional IRA households now hold rollover money from old employer plans. IRA assets have hit $19.2 trillion.
Change jobs a few times and your savings end up scattered across providers. 63% of people who rolled over cited consolidation as a main reason.

We surveyed 800+ small business owners about retirement.
1 in 5 have nothing saved. Zero.
1 in 3 believe they'll never be able to retire.
These aren't people who failed at business. The retirement system was just never built to include them.
More findings coming over the next few weeks. Some of it surprised us.

47% of American workers don't have access to a retirement plan through their job.
It's not a willingness problem.
Pew found that small business owners without a plan support offering one at almost the same rate as owners who already have one. 79% vs 75%.
The gap isn't desire. It's friction.
That's the whole reason WealthRabbit exists.

The Warren is back.
Best May for the S&P since the 1990s. A nine-week winning streak. Markets up nearly 20% off the March lows. But most sectors actually fell. One corner did all the lifting.

A common misconception about crypto IRAs.
People assume holding crypto in a retirement account means going all in on speculation. That's not how Bitwise builds the portfolios inside WealthRabbit IRAs.
Diversified portfolios, built around your risk tolerance, managed by a firm overseeing $15B+ in client assets since 2017.
Investing involves risk including possible loss of principal.

Almost halfway through 2026. Five months down, seven to go.
2026 IRA limit: $7,500 under 50, $8,600 if you're 50+.
On pace? You're at $625 or $717 a month. Behind? You need closer to $1,070 or $1,230 a month from June through December.
Either way, today is a good day to set up a recurring contribution.

A CPA we work with in Texas told us something last week that stuck.
The hardest part of his tax season isn't the tax work. It's having the same conversation with 30 clients who say "yeah I should probably set up an IRA" every year and never do.
This year he sent those 30 clients a WealthRabbit link. By April 15, 22 of them had funded their 2025 contribution.
That's not a discipline win. That's a friction win.

We didn't start WealthRabbit because the world needed another financial platform.
We started it because we kept watching small business owners give up on setting up retirement plans for their employees. Not because they didn't want to. Because the paperwork made it a month-long project.
So we built the first fully digital, payroll-integrated SIMPLE IRA.

Two government programs launched this year share almost the same name. Most people assume they're the same thing. They're not.
One is the Trump IRA, for working adults. The other is the Trump Account, for newborns.
