Few things are as upsetting and disappointing as finding out that someone you respected and thought was a good person turned out not to be one. It can completely warp the way you view similar people and situations. It's not fun.

But then, it also reminds you that no-one is infallible, and everyone makes bad decisions and bad choices. And that it's okay to both trust and be cautious around others. Because a bad decision doesn't always make someone a bad person. And it's up to us to make that distinction.
