My lenses are incredibly thick, so much that people have commented on it before, but they still lack that almost opaque quality and the visible swirl alongside the obvious magnification that people on the other side of the glasses could see of old school swirly glasses

Part of it is that the thick, cheap, "coke bottle" glasses that inspired them haven't existed for decades now so they're kind of an aluminium Christmas tree situation

I've seen pictures of my mother wearing them but I've never worn these kind of glasses or seen them IRL
