Daily Business Development Tip:
5. Track your activity
You don’t need a complex system, but you do need visibility.
Keep track of who you’ve spoken to, when you last followed up, and what was discussed. This turns BD from guesswork into a process.
#AgentsOf
Visibility creates opportunity.
If people don’t know what you do, they can’t buy from you - no matter how good your service is.
That visibility comes from:
• Turning up consistently
• Having conversations, not pitches
• Staying in touch after “good to meet you” moments
Are you in Business Development?

The Biz Dev Club is back and works to try and help people with new ideas to win new clients.

Daily Business Development Tip:
4. Follow up properly
Most opportunities don’t disappear - they just drift.
A simple, polite follow-up keeps you front of mind and shows professionalism. Persistence (done well) is a strength, not a flaw.

Manchester is full of great businesses.
The ones that win more work are usually the most visible, not the loudest.
That means:
✔️ Turning up consistently to local events (have a look at @CirclesMCR)
✔️ Being active on LinkedIn
✔️ Staying in touch after “good to meet you” moments
Daily Business Development Tip:
3. Lead with curiosity, not a pitch
Good Business Development starts with listening.
Ask thoughtful questions, understand challenges, and resist the urge to sell too early. People buy from those who “get” their situation.

One reason business development feels so difficult?
It’s personal.
You’re not just selling a product, you’re selling you, your thinking and your value. Rejection can feel uncomfortable, especially in close-knit business communities.

Let’s be honest.
Business Development is hard.
You’re putting yourself out there.
Following up when it feels awkward.
Hearing “sounds great, let’s keep in touch” more times than you’d like.
If Business Development feels difficult right now, you’re not alone.

Daily Business Development Tip :
2. Focus on consistency, not intensity.
A small amount of BD done regularly beats occasional big pushes. A few messages, follow-ups or conversations each week will outperform a burst of activity followed by silence.

If winning more work is a goal this year, ask yourself:
• Am I in the right networking rooms?
• Am I speaking to the right people?
• Am I staying visible after events?
If not, that’s exactly what I help with.
Have a look at my website to see how I help with BD & intros
Manchester networking tip 👇
Stop trying to meet everyone in the room.
Instead:
• Pick 3–4 people you’d genuinely like to talk to
• Ask about their business, not their budget
• Follow up within 48 hours
Most deals in Manchester start with a decent chat and a coffee.
Daily Business Development Tip :
1. Be clear on who you’re targeting.
Vague targeting leads to vague results. Decide exactly who you want to speak to, what problem you help them solve, and why they should care. Clarity makes outreach easier and conversations more relevant.

New year. New conversations. Same Manchester hustle.
Business Development in Manchester works best when you:
✔️ Turn up to the right rooms
✔️ Have proper conversations (not pitches)
✔️ Follow up with a brew, not a brochure

Business development doesn’t have to be complicated.
Sometimes all you need is consistency, energy and someone who actually enjoys doing outreach (that’ll be me).
New service: weekly onsite support to help you bring in more opportunities.
Let’s have a no-obligation conversation.
Some weeks you just need someone in the room making calls, starting conversations, building pipeline, and keeping things moving.
So I’ve added a weekly onsite service to help businesses do exactly that.

Happy to chat if you think it could help.

A local business told me last week:
"I didn’t even know half these events existed before @CirclesMCR."
Visibility creates opportunity.
If you want to grow your pipeline, start showing up.
I’ll help you find exactly where to go.
📍 One platform. All the events.
#CirclesMCR
