Israel stood with us when we were nobodys in the 1980s and 1990s. Why wouldn't we defend her now that our GDP is $100 billion? One of the largest in Africa.
Let’s be clear about what happened here. Sami Steigmann, 86 years old, survivor of a Nazi labor camp and subjected to medical experimentation as a child, was blocked from speaking to Brooklyn middle schoolers because of his pro-Israel views.
Meanwhile, artwork by the incoming Mayor’s wife was finding its way into those same classrooms.
Rama Duwaji is a pro-Palestinian “advocate” who illustrated work for an author who publicly described Jews as “vampires” and “parasites.”
Her work was being promoted in New York City schools while a Holocaust survivor was shown the door.
This predates Mamdani’s mayoralty - which makes it worse, not better. It means the ideological rot in the New York City Public Schools system runs deeper than any one administration.
This isn’t about who sits in City Hall. It’s about a school bureaucracy that has internalized exactly the kind of viewpoint discrimination that Title VI was designed to prohibit.
The legal question practically writes itself: what legitimate educational interest is served by silencing a Holocaust survivor? There is none. The reason isn’t pedagogical. It’s political.
New York families deserve answers. And if they don’t get them, they may have legal options.

As Purim sets in this week, we’re reminded of the story of Haman and the courage of Esther.
Today, our modern-day Haman, #Khamenei, has been eliminated by the courage of Israel.
We will aggressively enforce U.S. sanctions against Iran and relentlessly pursue ghost fleet vessels whose illicit oil shipments have served as revenue sources for the IRGC and its terrorist proxies.
With the continued seizures and forfeitures of tankers and related profits, we are sending a clear message that there will be no safe harbor for sanctions evasion – and that we will deny Iran the ability to fund terrorism through its shadowy maritime networks.
The clock has stopped. The last hostage, the hero Ran Gvili z”l, is home, and history has been made after 843 days.
Throughout the entire time I was in captivity, we counted every single day.
In a place so dark, with no information, lies piled upon lies, and an endless wait to come home, we always told ourselves that we knew nothing, but there was one thing we did know - the number of days we had been held captive.
We found comfort in the thought that every day that passed was one day closer to our release.
And now, finally, we can stop counting.
The moment we waited for for so long has arrived. Everyone in this country, and people around the world, prayed for this moment.
It is incredible to me to see how everyone, truly everyone, saw, felt, and carried the pain of the hostages and their families as if they were their own brothers and sisters. People set an empty chair at Friday night dinners and on holidays, as if we were part of their family. It is incredible to see that no one gave up. Not even for a moment.
This shows us the power we have when we are united around a single goal.
Thank you to all the security forces who, for so long, risked their lives and gave everything of themselves, day after day. Thank you for not giving up. We are here because of you.
After more than 11 years in which there were hostages in Gaza, only now, finally, can an entire country begin its healing.
Be patient with one another. We have all been through hell. This is not a slogan - it is a real effort required from each of us to seek out what unites us, not what divides us.
We will always remember all those murdered in this horrific massacre,
the hostages who were murdered in captivity in cold blood, and the soldiers who gave their lives to protect our country.
We will always remember that behind every angel taken from us, there is a family that needs support and needs to be seen.
And alongside them, we remember the families of the hostages who went through hell, and who are only now truly able to begin their own healing process.
Make sure that we never forget October 7th. That we will grow from our grief and become stronger. Together.
"For us bereaved families, the eternal hurdle is figuring out how to wake up each morning with part of our souls elsewhere."
A searing, heart-aching reflection from Rachel Goldberg-Polin on bringing Ran Gvili home:
"Normally, the first prayers I utter in the morning, before even putting a foot on the floor, include, “And please let Ran come home today.” But this morning—on Tuesday, January 27—I stop...
On Day 843, Ran Gvili’s body was returned to his family. In a bag. I know the experience of having a child returned that way. For me, when Hersh came home, it was not a happy day. At all. It changed the rest of my life forever, and every day is sodden with grief and pain.
So it was confusing for me to receive many messages telling me how happy I must be. But as more and more texts and emails swam to me, I began to understand the messages were because this specific agonizing mission, to get every hostage home, has concluded."

Omer Shem Tov, who spent 505 days in Hamas captivity in Gaza, recently appeared on an Israeli late night talk show and shared that, while a hostage, he committed to keeping Shabbat. "What does that even mean?" quipped one of the show's co-hosts. "I mean, what could you have done in captivity? Go on a fun jeep tour of Gaza?" Shem Tov didn't lose a beat. Held underground, he explained, he was given a small flashlight, the only source of illumination at his disposal. And on Shabbat, he didn't turn it on, sitting in total darkness but knowing that he was lit up from the inside by a much greater, and more eternal, force.
#SOUNDON Rachel Goldberg-Polin’s speech on the eve of the release of all the living hostages is powerful and profoundly resonating.
“There’s a time to sob, and a time to dance,
And we have to do both right now.” 🙏❤️🩹🇮🇱

With an Israeli flag and a Star of David necklace, American rapper Azealia Banks opens her performance at the Tel Aviv Amphitheater. Banks came to pay a visit of solidarity, toured the Nova website, among other things, and criticized the global music industry for remaining silent in the face of the OcT 7 massacre at the festival

Charlie Kirk was just assassinated in broad daylight and people on TikTok are celebrating.
These people are on the side who claims to be the side of “love and tolerance.”
A man’s life was taken and instead of mourning, they cheer. It is absolutely disgusting.
Pay attention. DO NOT ignore this behavior.
Calla Walsh, who volunteered for Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign in 2020 and a proud member of Democratic Socialists of America, posts saying “Thoughts and prayers for the bullet.”
This is demonic.
