There is no such thing as a Chinese Starlink. We have and have had satellite internet in SA for a very long time. YahClick is available from VOX for example. Speeds up to 20MBs but technically this could be a lot faster. The problem with classic satellite internet is latency. Starlink is special not just because of LEO satellites (which the Chinese can do but is far behind), but because of a serious back foot in tech in launching them, satellites themselves and receivers. Most of SpaceSail is political standing without substance. Pilots are run in ridiculous countries to lie and post nonsense successes. Backing the underdog in this race is a losing bet.
