That's not us saying it. That's Erik Bruyland — a professional journalist — writing this week in the Flemish outlet Doorbraak, in reply to Flanders' Minister of Media.

The platform was Vitae: a European social network with 220,000 members that didn't trade personal data and didn't run addictive algorithms. Belgium shut it down in June 2021 — without warning. Five years later there is still no evidence, no indictment, no verdict, and no user ever filed a complaint.
