Tooting & Mitcham United FC Youth is the first club in the country to partner with OURSPACE.
Their catchment includes Pollards Hill, one of the most deprived neighbourhoods in the country for child poverty. This is exactly who OURSPACE exists for.

A superb piece of research from @forza_goal. Though the results are grim. In summary, the cost of sport participation for kids is spiralling out of control. This spells out the issue in detail.

This is exactly why we launched OURSPACE.
Anyone in youth sport, please give this a read.
The Founder of OURSPACE was a Dad Manager for seven years.
Local pitches sat empty at £110/hr and his team were forced to play on pitches 30 minutes away.
That's the sort of environment OURSPACE was created to tackle.
Every penny of profit gets kids playing.

@savegrassroots This is the reality for too many families. Cost is the barrier, not desire. Every kid wants to play. We built OURSPACE to change all this. #kidspricedout
Grassroots clubs. Sports charities. School programmes. Anyone raising funds for young people in sport.
Partner with OURSPACE. We build your shop, you share the link, every sale funds your cause.
£11 a cap. £11 a tee. £15 a sweatshirt.

@wefundgs Really useful to see it broken down like this. It shows what clubs are up against, which is exactly why subs end up set at a level that's out of reach for a lot of families. That gap is what OURSPACE exists to close.
@tomstanbury Seen this first-hand. Grassroots clubs hold a lot together beyond the football itself. It's part of why we started OURSPACE, keeping kids in that environment when things like subs or kit become the barrier.
@GRFootball This is the exact pressure point we see. A few extra pounds a week doesn't sound like much until it's the difference between a kid staying in the squad or quietly dropping out.
@waynegoldcoach Rising costs is the one that quietly kills the other four. If a kid's already gone because they couldn't afford it, retention and coaching investment never even get the chance to matter.
@jrf_uk@Channel4News Seen this pattern up close through grassroots sport. When affordability becomes the barrier, it's rarely just about missing a match, it's often the first domino. Important report.
Do one thing today.
Buy it, wear it, tell someone, tag someone.
However small, it gets a young person closer to playing sport.
This is OURSPACE. https://t.co/ZkKCNElhyA
The Clubhouse is proud to be partnered with wearOURSPACE, the leisurewear brand from Sport Local Action putting every penny of profit into breaking down the financial barriers between young people and sport.
